SHARISE NEIL MAKES EVERYONE LOOK GOOD IN GREEN!
Envi-Image sat down with fashion designer Sharise Neil, for a little Q & A. Sharise Neil is the designer and co-owner of Pink Polka Dot. Sharise is naturally eco-conscious, having grown up surfing the beaches of Orange County, California. She says, "I consider my style, a little bit of surf and a ton of Rock N' roll. I want to make women feel sophisticated and sexy when they wear my things. My philosophy is simple...show a little, hide a little." Pink Polka Dot's hip dresses and trendy tops fly off the shelves at stores all across America. Inspired by her rocker chick days (she was once married to Motley Crue singer Vince Neil) and her love of music, Sharise has a new, edgier line called "Pink Rock Los Angeles", and is launching her bikini line, cleverly called, "Kandy Wrappers"...OMG! Eco-cute!(more)

RED DOG SPORTSWEAR ANNOUNCES ECO-SPORT LINE
Just a few miles from San Francisco nestles the ultra laid back city of Berkley, California. Renowned for its world class University and once home to the scintillating sounds of such rock bands as the Grateful Dead, Berkley long ago turned the corner on its infamous but noteworthy past. Always a hot spot for billion dollar businesses, Berkley is reinventing itself by welcoming new and innovative companies questing for green solutions.

Fast gaining a reputation for its imaginatively green ideas is Red Dog Sportswear, an organic clothing line with 'skin in the game'. They make underwear and basically underwear only. It's a sexy job and Red Dog does it very well with their new eco-sport line. Producing a selection of men's under garments using only certified organic cotton, grown by Turkish farmers who pick every ounce of cotton by hand and use no chemicals in processing the fabric.(more)

CAN FASHION SAVE THE PLANET?
I only discovered eco-friendly dresses last year...it was March in fact, when all the glossy magazines come out with their Earth Day editions. There was a sexy beige floor length dress that I coveted. I even tore the page out and tacked it to my cork board. It was by EcoSkin Collections. So, when I got asked to be in a celebrity fashion show by HotMomsClub (who produced the Peace day event for Peirce and Keeley Brosnan), I jumped at the chance and requested that I be styled in EcoSkin. Sandy Skinner, the brands brainchild, offered up several eco-conscious, stunning styles for me to choose from. So, I pranced down the catwalk in an itsy bitsy bamboo mini-dress in the fashion show. (I loved it so much I ended up buying it). After the show, a naturally beautiful raven haired woman called out to me. It turned out to be Sandy Skinner herself, sporting a sling, the kind that you carry a baby in. Only when I looked down to see her baby...it was a baby kangaroo! Sandy volunteers at a wildlife ranch and works with animals in her spare time. She was helping to nurse the kangaroo until it grew big enough to survive on its own..(more)

ACCESSORIES - WENDY GRIFFIN
Count celebrity jewelry designer Wendy Griffin among those who've been bitten by the eco-fashion bug thanks to Envi-Image.com. And it happened even before the website went live!

Griffin is a longtime pal of Envi-Image founder Carrie Stevens. "I met Carrie when we both were just starting out modeling, and we've remained close," says Griffin.

So, when the two friends took a road trip together recently, Carrie couldn't resist sharing her passion for all things eco. "We spent about 10 hours in the car," Griffin recalls, "and I don't think we stopped talking about all things green for the entire time."

"Carrie's absolute dedication to the planet has greatly influenced me to do even more in my jewelry business to contribute to the solution..."(more)

HOPPING ON THE BAMBOO BANDWAGON
When you think of bamboo you probably think of Panda Bears, Chinese food, flutes, or fly fishing rods. You may even know that bamboo is strong like steel, and can used to make furniture, flooring and even to build bridges. But what may surprise you is that Bamboo can be harvested and spun into one of the softest, sexiest fabrics available. It is commonly referred to as "cashmere from plants". Besides feeling so amazing, there are other good reasons to wear clothing made from Bamboo: the fabric has natural antibacterial properties, and will naturally block harmful rays of the sun. Also, bamboo clothing dries quickly and comes back to shape when it does. It is incredibly breathable, meaning your skin can breathe through it and it the fabric won't hold on to odor (if you do perspire). Once you feel bamboo against your skin you will feel so sensuous that you'll want to wear bamboo underwear and buy bamboo "date" shirts!(more)

GREEN MEANS GO!
I just read that Gisele Bündchen has a green blog. She's following in the footsteps of green supermodel Cindy Crawford. Supermodel Angela Lindvall, meanwhile, shares co-hosting duties with Entourage's Adrian Grenier on Planet Green's new "Alter-Eco" series... Josie Maran has an organic cosmetics line. And the original eco-model, Summer Rayne Oaks, shares her views in the "Ask Summer Rayne" column on Planet Green's website.

Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Leonardo DiCaprio... Beautiful green people are the hot new trend. And as far as I am concerned, it's fantastic. The more people getting the word out, the better! (more)

WHO'S THE GREENEST OF THEM ALL?
Envi-Image magazine encourages people to make an effort to do more "Eco" things in their lives. And we prefer to do it with grace and style.

Who better, then, to illustrate Envi-Image's attitude on being Eco than beautiful Playmates Kona Carmack and Vanessa Gleason, looking like princesses in an editorial on eco-evening wear?

"There are many definitions for being green or eco. The one we like the best is the definition of sustainability: 'meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.' Isn't that beautiful?"(more)
